JEWELLERY worth a four figure sum of money has been stolen from a house on Prestwick's Crofthead Road by ruthless thieves.
Between 9.30pm and 11pm on Thursday, August 11 entry was gained to the house where property including the jewellery was stolen from within.
Detective Constable McRoberts, from Ayr CID, commented "Crimes such as this where someone has been in your home can have a very negative effect on those involved and we are keen to trace the person or persons responsible as quickly as possible.
"I would encourage anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area around these times or anyone with any information that may assist our enquiries to contact us by calling 101.
"Information can also be provided anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111."
Police are appealing for information and witnesses to get in touch on either of the contact details above.
