CHEEKY Charlies in Troon will be opened for an extra hour on the weekend of the Ayrshire Real Ale Festival.

The pub will be open until 3:30am on October 6 and October 7 to accommodate the demand of the of the Real Ale Festival. The approval was given at the licensing board meeting chaired by Councillor Ann Galbraith this past Thursday.

Christopher Morrison, owner of the pub was present at the meeting as the councillors which included Ian Douglas and Peter Convery quickly approved the pub's application to be open one hour later on this weekend.

Mr. Morrison claimed at the meeting that the pub was a sponsor of the Annual Real Ale Festival which was challenged by Councillors as there is no evidence of this on the Ayrshire Real Ale Festival.

The Ayrshire Real Ale Festival is an annual event which is held in the Troon concert hall which every year attracts many tourists and beer enthusiasts to Troon. It will be held from October 6-8.
