Could Tommy Sloan's incredible reign at Auchinleck Talbot be coming to an end?

According to bookmakers McBookie, there is a chance it could be.

The Beechwood Park boss has enjoyed a remarkably successful time in charge - winning just about every title there is to win since he was appointed manager in 2003.

That success has seen 'Tucker' included in the betting odds to take over as manager at a different club - Ayr United.

Former Somerset Park boss Lee Bullen left the Scottish Championship club earlier this month, with the role still vacant.

There are a number of names touted for the role ahead of the Auchinleck boss - who is a 20/1 outsider - though we are sure there would certainly be worse options.

However, Sloan's inclusion in the odds can perhaps be taken with a pinch of salt.

Also within the names touted in the online markets are former Glenafton boss, and Ayr United player Ryan Stevenson, who is 25/1 to take on the role.

Another ex-Somerset Park star from the West of Scotland Football League listed at the same price to step into the hot seat is current Troon assistant manager Dean Keenan.

Emphasising just how unlikely these appointments would be, Ayr's own managing director Graeme Mathie is listed at shorter odds to take on the role himself.

While stranger things have happened, we can't help but feel the appointment of Sloan would be unlikely.
