A number of road closures and restrictions are coming into force in Ayr town centre as Pavilion Festival gets under way on the Low Green.

Revellers are set to flock to the seafront this weekend, with organisers expecting an attendance level similar to the 12,000 people who came to the 2023 event.

The festival, which takes place on Saturday, May 4, is organised by top Scottish DJ Ewan McVicar in his home town.

STREETrave will be staged the following day on Sunday, May 5, and a number of road restrictions will be in place across both days.

Wellington Square on the Pavilion Road side will be closed, with no access, from 7pm on Friday, and all vehicles on the street will be asked to be move.

These vehicles can be parked in the Cromwell Road car park until Sunday free of charge.

On the Bath Place side of Wellington Square, the road will be open, but parking restrictions will be in place.

All vehicles will be asked to move by 7pm on Friday, and these can also park in the Cromwell Road car park free of charge.

No parking will be allowed in Bath Place, but access to the road will be provided.

Blackburn Drive will be signed as closed, with residents only able to get access with proof of address.

Finally, Fairfield Road, Alloway Park and Park Terrace will all be closed to anyone but residents, who will be able to gain access at all times.
