Three outstanding young Scout leaders from South Ayrshire Kyle and Carrick District Scout leaders have won prestigious awards for their dedication and service.

Michelle Strong, Beaver Leader for the 14th Ayrshire Scout Group (Prestwick), Blair Olsen from the 12th Ayrshire Scout Group (Kingcase), and Alistair McIntyre, also from the 12th Ayrshire Scout Group (Kingcase) have been honoured for their remarkable contributions.

All three groups are part of the Kyle and Carrick District Scouts.

Michelle was awarded the esteemed Wood Badge - the pinnacle of achievement for Scout leaders, signifying the completion of comprehensive training.

A spokesperson said: "Michelle's commitment, perseverance, and passion for Scouting have been instrumental in her attainment of this honour. The Wood Badge is a testament to her unwavering dedication and the countless hours she has invested in enriching the lives of young Scouts."

Blair was recognised for his remarkable 10 years of service with the Cub Scouts.

The spokesperson added: "Through his leadership and guidance, Blair has made a profound impact on the lives of numerous young Scouts, nurturing their growth and fostering a love for Scouting.

"His dedication to the Cub Scouts is exemplified by his long-standing commitment and his service is a source of inspiration for both Scouts and leaders alike."

When Blair received the award for 10 years service, one of his cubs commented: "That’s how old I am."

Alistair, meanwhile, won the prestigious Chief Scout Recommendation Award, a testament to his exceptional leadership and dedication to the movement.

The district spokesperson said: "Scouting principles and his tireless efforts in supporting and empowering young scouts earned him this distinguished honour.

"His leadership serves as a shining example of the values and ethos of the Scouting community.

"The Kyle and Carrick District Scouts would like to extend their heartfelt congratulations to Michelle Strong, Blair Olsen and Alistair McIntyre on their well-deserved awards.

"Their contributions to scouting have enriched the lives of countless individuals, leaving an indelible mark on the scouting community.
