Ayr United have confirmed their position on supporters' buses ahead of the club's Scottish Cup clash with Rangers.

Fans of the Honest Men had been asking the club to arrange buses to head to Ibrox for the game on February 10.

However, the club's directors now say that supporters will need to arrange the buses themselves - though the club will make a contribution towards the costs involved.

The tie will kick off at 5.30pm after being selected by Viaplay for live TV coverage.

A spokesperson said: "The club is aware of ongoing enquiries regarding supporter’s buses, specifically for our Scottish Cup fifth round match at Ibrox on February 10.

"The people resource, logistical and liability issues surrounding the organisation of supporter transport dictates that this is not a viable option for the football club.

"Should there be any supporters groups or individuals interested in operating a bus to our forthcoming Scottish Cup tie, the board of directors would be willing to make a contribution towards the overall cost.

"Additionally, the club would make Cameron’s Bar available in the afternoon prior to departure and provide a complimentary drink for each supporter travelling."
